Last general election, 2015, Dawn and I worked together on my press release and web page content. Who am I?
I moved to the south-west five years ago after a varied career in freelance journalism/publishing, alongside teaching and learning support to secondary age pupils and adults.
Since then, I have also developed expertise in website copywriting and social media, working extensively on my hyperlocal website, Bude and Beyond. I contribute to – and publish – other websites, and have also written three Bude books books, with a new one on Pamela Colman-Smith in progress.
A school governor, I enjoy working with young people and adults. I qualified professionally as a secondary school teacher, and have five degrees, including a First in Literature (studied for fun) plus three postgraduate degrees, two in education.
That’s the serious bit. A proactive ‘do it now’ type, I find writing and editing exciting and intriguing. While the rest of the world around me is surfing and sunbathing, I am busy reading, blogging, and getting the writing right.
